With all of the changes in the last several years regarding how consumers read, there are several critics who argue that so much of the reading experience is lost when reading on a digital device. ShopAdvisor, the shopping app that lets consumers keep a running tally of products they see in digital magazines for iPad, almost a personal wish list of sorts, has introduced a new feature just in time for consumers to begin thinking about holiday shopping.
The app now lets readers dog-ear a page, just as they would in a print magazine, in order to keep up with products they want to come back to later for more viewing. This feature lets consumer readers note products of interest in magazines and digital editions of catalogs. By keeping up with which pages and products that have been marked through the “watch this for later” feature in the shopping app, readers can simply tap a product and find it later.
“Holiday shopping can be a hectic and stressful time for many shoppers whose gift-giving lists are never ending and wallet-emptying. ShopAdvisor alleviates some of that stress by giving shoppers an outlet to create their lists in advance of stepping inside crowded stores or making unnecessary expensive online purchases to complete their shopping in time for the holidays,” said Scott Cooper, CEO of ShopAdvisor in a press release. “ShopAdvisor lets users causally browse holiday gift items from the comfort of their own homes through the pages of an iPad magazine before they commit to making the mad dash to crowded mall parking lots.”
