The TCL NxtPaper 11 Plus is undoubtedly one of the star attractions of the TCL stall at MWC 2025, and one prime reason for it to be so is its ability to function both as a regular tablet as well as an e-reader. Guess what, it impresses in both the roles, that of a full-fledged Android tablet while also having the eye-friendly attribute akin to an e-reader device such as the Kindle.
The key to that ability is the company’s proprietary NxtPaper 4.0 display technology which can switch to Ink Paper mode which mimics the paper-like display akin to that of an e-reader. The 11.5-inch display otherwise offers 2.2k resolution, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and 550 nits of brightness. The AI-powered Smart Eye Comfort mode allows for optimum viewing experience taking into account the content type as well as the ambient lighting conditions. The display boasts a new nano-matrix lithography technology for the screen etching process which ensures enhanced clarity while having 100% sRGB color gamut coverage.
The display offers three modes – Regular, Ink Paper, or Color Paper which can be invoked with the flick of a switch. Of these, the Ink Paper is the mode that offers a feel that is similar to the E Ink display available in e-book reader devices. You have the least strain on your eyes in Ink Mode and it is the one to be used when reading. Otherwise, there is the Color Paper mode which can be suitable for reading comics or other illustrated content while Regular mode offers a full-fledged tablet experience.
Under the hood lies a MediaTek Helio G100 processor that is coupled with either 8 GB or 12 GB of memory. Storage remains consistent at 256 GB across both models. Power comes from an 8,000 mAh battery which is supported by 33W fast charging technology. The device runs Android 15 with Android Enterprise Recommended certification. It measures just 6.5mm in thickness and weighs less than 500 grams. The tablet also supports stylus input though you will have to procure the TCL T-Pen separately.
Coming to its availability, TCL said the NxtPaper 11 Plus is going to be introduced in North America, Europe, Latin America, and Asia shortly. It should be priced at less than $300 when launched.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
