The Storytel e-reader is very unique, it directly ties into your ebook subscription and allows users to download and read an unlimited number of titles. It is only available in a handful of Nordic countries and is proving to be very popular.
The Storytel Reader features a six inch E Ink Carta display and resolution of 1024×768. It has a touchscreen and page turn keys. It is powered by an IMX6 single core 1GHZ processor and has 8GB of internal memory and 512MB of RAM. You will be able to read at night via the front-lit display. It does not have Bluetooth for wireless headphones, but does have a 3.5mm headphone jack for audiobooks. You will get around a months worth of battery life.
One of the most interesting aspects about the retail packaging is how much care Storytel put into the construction. The box art is bright and vibrant and when you open it up it greets you with a message that says “Happy Reading.” Instead of a complicated user manual, there is a rundown of all of the key features on the inside of the box. It lets you know what all of the buttons do.
