Europe’s leading ebook distribution platform, XinXii, has formed a partnership with the largest bookselling chain in Spain to incorporate its self-published ebook titles into Casa del Libro’s online store. While Casa del Libro has thirty-seven physical locations throughout the country, its online store has over seven million registered users who will now be able to access all of the titles that authors have uploaded to XinXii’s digital publishing platform.
“The partnership with Casa del Libro is helping us to get closer to our aim, namely to offer the access to undiscovered pearls to as many readers as possible”, says Dr. Andrea Schober, CEO of XinXii. “We are glad that the leading Spanish bookseller chain has decided on a distribution partnership with us. It is certain that our multilingual offer enriches Casa del Libro, and that the Spanish eBook readership would benefit from new voices in all categories and genres of literature.”
XinXii has over 15,000 digital media titles in its catalog from over 10,000 authors, and those works will now be available alongside bestselling titles in the Casa del Libro online store. The European ebook market has made headlines recently for some of the myriad changes being made to bookselling practices—particularly in book price matching and VAT—that will hopefully make digital reading a more widespread practice, and with greater access to digital content through partnerships such as this one greater demand for ebook accessibility will follow.
