The Kindle is the most popular e-reader in the world and Amazon sold a copious amount during Black Friday. This created a stock shortage and virtually every single model, color, memory configuration and 4G are completely out of stock. This includes the Kindle Paperwhite, Kindle Oasis and the entry level Kindle. Even the essential bundles with case and accessory package is not available until sometime in January.
Amazon might be sold out of Kindles, but if you really want to buy one, Best Buy says they have a handful of units online, but there is no guarantee they are in the retail stores. Meanwhile, Target is completely sold out, and only have Fire tablets. Target is also out of stock, but does say the Paperwhite is available in certain retail stores.
If you were looking for a new Kindle, it doesn’t look like stock will be replenished anytime soon. It will be at least 3-4 weeks before all retailers will have them again.
