Acer’s Iconia Tab A100 started out with Android 3.2, but not its 10 inch brethren, the Iconia Tab A500. However, that is scheduled for an update August 25th. While the update isn’t going to make the A500 behave as if it had been insufficient without Android 3.2, there is one feature in the latest iteration of Android that definitely would make A500 owners look forward to the 25th of August.
It’s the new ZOOM mode that will let you view those apps that have been designed for smartphones with typically smaller sized screens and lower resolution. The ZOOM mode will ensure those apps perform to their highest potential in the bigger screens and fill up the entire screen real estate that is available on bigger sized tablets. Also, what makes the update essential is the fact that the vast majority of apps that make up the Android Market have been designed for use on smartphones.
Interestingly, the August 25 date was first revealed in the Malaysian Facebook page, though it’s not mentioned if all A500 owners worldwide will be getting the Android 3.2 update on the same day.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
