The fourth quarter of the year is the time when quite a few tablet PC manufacturers promised us their tablet plans will start bearing fruit. Well, we are in that exciting phase right now and Acer has set itself the date of November 23rd, when more than one tablet PC will be released. However, while Acer is taking care to prevent leaking any details of the upcoming tablets, it is evident that the tablets might be in the 5, 7 and 10 inch categories, with at least one of them to have Android as the OS. Acer, as of now, has not committed to any details about the OS or any other specification except that the tablets will be in the price range of $300 to $700.
It’s worth mentioning here that Acer CEO, Gianfranco Lanci, had allowed us a glimpse of a 7 inch Android tablet during an event held in Beijing in May and had then revealed they have plans to launch both a 7 inch and a 10 inch tablet, while there might also be a smaller tablet offering in the 5 inch category. If all of these indeed turn out to be true, then both the iPad as well as the Streak will have one more contender to deal with. Going by the reputation of the Taiwan based company, it’s likely to be a formidable opponent.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
