Today we have two more tablet PCs to play around with. Both will be launched by the Taiwan based manufacturer Acer and will be in two size categories and running two different operating systems – a 10 inch device running Windows 7 with an Intel core and a smaller 7 inch tablet running Android 2.2.
The launch event has been planned to take place in New York which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering the US is perhaps the biggest tablet market right now with the iPad ruling the roost. The timing couldn’t have been better with the holidays fast approaching and electronic gadgets like tablets are already witnessing a jump in sales.
The Galaxy Tab has already gone on to reach 600,000 homes around the world and might reach the million mark before the end of the year. All this makes sense to have a tablet in the market right away instead of waiting for Google to launch the tablet specific versions of Android named Gingerbread and Honeycomb, which was the intention of some within Acer.
Further details on both the tablets are awaited. So keep watching.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
