Amazon followed up its Living Classics with Air Patriots, its first ever gaming title for mobile devices. The game will be compatible with all of the latest tablet devices running Android or iOS, including the entire Kindle Fire range. Unfortunately, the Nexus 7 seems to have been left out of all the fun.
As for the Air Patriots game, Amazon is describing it as a kind of tower defense game where players have to implement a suitable strategic plan to fend off attacks from waves of tanks. Players will be required to use their fingers to trace the route their planes will follow to neutralize an enemy tank attack. According to Amazon, what makes Air Patriots unique from similar tower defense games is that the players can “change their strategy on the fly.” All they have to do is re-assign a new flight path for the combat planes to where they are needed the most.
“We think customers will find Air Patriots both familiar and fresh, with a degree of challenge that keeps them engaged and enthused to play more. We are very excited to bring Amazon customers Air Patriots today, and Amazon Game Studios looks forward to bringing our fans even more great games in the future,” said Ernie Ramirez, Executive Producer at Amazon Game Studios.
While the game can be enjoyed on all Android and iOS devices, Amazon has laid special emphasis on its Kindle Fire tablet range, which is hardly surprising. For Kindle Fire owners, resorting to GameCircle will make Air Patriots a social affair allowing them to share scores and achievements with other members. Another Kindle Fire specific advantage is Whispersync for Games, which will ensure the game progress is saved in the cloud so that gamers can continue with their progress on all compatible devices.
The game can be downloaded free from the Amazon Appstore for Android, Google Play, and Apple’s App Store.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
