The Eee Pad Transformer has lived up to its name as the tablet has indeed transformed Asus’ fortunes in the great tablet game. The Transformer has emerged as the highest selling tablet so far in the 10 inch category of Honeycomb tablets, with demand still on the rise. Also, now that Asus has launched the Tranformer in India, there will be a few more that will be added to the worldwide Transformer sales figure.
“We are excited to launch the much-awaited ASUS Transformer in India. This latest creation will bring revolution in the field of technology with its magical features and stylish looks. With this innovative product, the Indian consumers would experience cutting edge technology that the world has been talking of,” said Alex Huang, country head, Asus Technology (India).
“This Android tablet employs ASUS’s netbook expertise, including a keyboard dock that not only makes typing easier it also doubles the battery life and boosts connectivity,” stated Unaez Quraishi, sales and distribution director, system business, Asus Technology (India).
Price is a bit on the steeper side as the Eee Pad Transformer TF101 tablet with 16 GB of on-board storage and Wi-Fi will set one back by a cool Rs 32,999, price being inclusive of the keypad dock. The 3G version is slated for a release sometime later, though Asus didn’t reveal when. Also, the version that is running Android 3.0 Honeycomb will go on sale in India with updates to come in later.
As it is with almost all tablets running Android Honeycomb, the Transformer TF101 is based on the Nvidia Tegra 2 dual core processor, which is coupled to a 1 GB RAM. It comes with a 10.1 inch IPS screen having a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels and boasts of 10 finger multi-touch support. The tablet has a battery life of about 8 hours, though that gets doubled once attached to the keypad unit. The Transformer also includes two USB ports, SD card slot, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi among other things.
So what remains to be seen is that if the Transformer also makes it big in the Indian tablet market, which is still in its nascent stages.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
