Another tablet is up for pre-order with delivery slated to be on the 20th of April. It’s the BalckBerry PlayBook tablet PC and those who can’t wait for the RIM tablet can place their orders at Best Buy. Price mentioned is $500, $600 and $700 for the 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB version. However, the Wi-Fi only version is all that Best Buy has to offer with no mention of any 3G or 4G version of the PlayBook forthcoming from the the premier US retailer.
Also, while the price mentioned stacks up well against the iPad 2, the key differentiator is the PlayBook’s display which is all of 7 inches. Also, the PlayBook is in a completely different niche in that the tablet is built primarily for use by the business community, though RIM has also been making efforts to make the tablet to have an all round appeal. Plus it also comes with a lot of cool features that many believe will it make a strong competitor to the Apple tablet in spite of it being in the 7 inch category.
