Best Buy has just lowered the prices of the entire Playbook line in an attempt to garner more sales. The Playbook has never recovered from the slew of negative early reviews it got as it launched and many people are still holding off purchasing one. This may be the time to buy one with discounts abounding with the entire Playbook product line.
Best Buy is knocking off $50.00 on the 16 GB and 32 GB models and $150 off of the 64 GB edition. The final price of the 16 GB model with the discount is $449 and the 32 GB model is $549! It is interesting to note if you want to buy one the best deal is the 64 GB, that costs the same amount as the 32 GB after the $150 discount.
The main reason most people have been resistive in purchasing a Playbook has mainly been because of the lack of BBM, Email, and many other core features that RIM has been known for. Of course, you can pair it to your phone via the Bridge software but it lacks many of the features people are used to. For example, if you want to delete emails you have to do it one by one, it does not allow you to delete all, like the phones do. Maybe once the promised Android support goes in this may be a better deal. In the meantime, the Playbook is extremely portable and offers a full web experience.
