Cisco is all set to unleash its Cius enterprise tablet among business users in India, though the price mentioned is a bit on the higher side. For instance, the Cius tablet alone will cost one INR 35,000, which will go up to INR 50,000 if the docking station is also included in the package.
Cisco, though, is confident it will have enough buyers of the Android based tablet, which it claims has been tailored specifically to suit the requirements of business users.
“Cius is not just another tablet. It has more to do with providing applications helping productivity in a secure environment,” said Minhaj Zia, Cisco India and SAARC National Sales Manager (Unified Communications).
Cisco is initially targeting its existing customer base in the country, as well as IP telephony users—the numbers of which stand at an impressive 700,000.
As for the tablet itself, the Cius is based on a 1.6 GHz Intel Atom Processor mated to a 1 GB RAM and runs Android 2.2 Froyo. The display is all of seven inches and comes with 32 GB of internal memory. The Cius also boasts of a camera integrated at the front and the back to allow for video conferencing as well as for occasional photography. For connectivity, the Cius is both 3G and 4G compliant apart from support for Wi-Fi as well.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
