We reported a few days ago that the Entourage Pocket Edge made a brief appearance when the Governator visited the Marvell factory. It seems now thanks to the folks at The Digital Reader, we now have more firm and concise details about this new device.
We made a very detailed review of Entourage previous entrant to the market with the Entourage Edge, and it was a rather sweet looking device, the pocket Edge is more or less the little brother.
This unit is a dual screen with one screen featuring a 6 inch e-ink Vizplex screen and a 7 inch (800×480) WVGA LCD touchscreen. There are two iterations planned, one with WI-FI and another with WI-FI and 3G, with Verizon.
There were two major changes between the originial Entourage Edge and the new Pocket Edge, for one, the camera is now above the e-ink screen and provided a new optical mouse. The Battery also is not removable and features a MicroSD Port.
The main premise behind both of these devices is to be the most friendly student device on the market! Having dual touch screens and e-Ink/LCD make a better experience in reading university textbooks, and having the option to few video, audio and see colored pictures.
