Tablet PC enthusiasts in India will soon be pampered with a new tablet device that its makers claim will be all of just INR. 6,000. That’s incredible for if Fly Mobile indeed sticks to that price point for its upcoming tablet ‘Fly Vision’, that tablet will be cheaper than even Android smartphones currently available.
However, most of the proposed tablet is being kept under wraps as of now though the company has made it known the tablet should be ready for launch towards November. There are some hints though that should take care of some if not all that we would like to know of what is going to be the cheapest tablet in the Indian market.
Fly Mobile has recently launched a tablet in Russia named Fly Vision and that has led many to believe that’s the tablet that would also mark the company’s first foray in the hot tablet segment. Fly Mobile till now is known for its mobile handsets that too cater to the low price segment and its clear they are looking to price card to gain entry in tablet space.
As for the Fly Vision currently on offer in Russia, the tablet sports a 7 inch display and runs Android 2.2 Froyo. The tablet is based on a 600 MHz Rockchip 2818 chipset which works in tandem with a 256 mb RAM. On board storage amounts to 4 GB of flash memory which can be expanded to 16 GB by way of SD cards.
The Fly Vision is Wi-Fi enabled though its not known if boasts of 3G capabilities as well. However, it is 2G complaint and can also double up as a giant smartphone. The tablet is also capable of playing back HD video and comes pre-loaded with apps such as MS Office, Google Talk, Gmail, Google Maps and YouTube. The tablet gets its power from a 4000 mAh battery which its makers claim will be good for about 6 hours of usage.
