HP TouchPad in Stock at Bestbuy Locations Today

hp touchpad bestbuy

Good e-Reader has been chronicalizing the ravenous public’s appetite for the hottest tablet in the world right now, the HP TouchPad. We have been keeping everyone aware of all of the stores in the USA and Canada currently carrying them. Over the course of the last 48 hours over 400,000 tablets were sold in in North America. Your best bet to land the 16 GB WIFI model for $99 is at Best Buy, the only location with a large inventory. Many Bestbuy locations when reached for comment said that each store should have anywhere between 10 and 50 units. Some locations in dense urban centres mentioned they might even have close to 100.

Starting Sunday morning in the USA and Canada Best Buy locations will be offering the 16 GB WIFI model for $99 and the 32 GB model for $149.99. We also heard that BJ’s Wholesale club will be offering the deal for the first time.
If you are coming into the whole HP TouchPad for $99 deal the reason is HP is discontinuing webOS, and its entire computer devision in a bid to move towards enterprise level services. Considering the whole IT sector right now is in a downturn it is an odd move. Many investors are fleeing from HP citing the company is trying to do too much, too quickly.

Hi, thanks for the updates so far. I bought several touch pads from bj’s yesterday in Philadelphia. You mentioned there would be a price drop at bj’s this morning but I just went back to the store and the manager said that no memo had come through from the head office. I was wondering if you knew when they will be dropping the prices?

  • Touchpadhunter

There are no TouchPads available in any Best Buy, Costco, OfficeMax, OfficeDepot and Wal-Mart here in Houston (Galleria area)…

  • Just Me

Ok thats in the states. Do you have anything saying it will be sold in Canada officially from best buy?>

I saw this posted at another site – “BJ’s still have their’s priced at $399.00. BJ’s 16 GB TouchPad.Called 800-BJS-CLUB (800-257-2582) to find out what pricing decision they had come to since yesterday when I picked up two in store. Today they said that corporate will not know or announce their decision until Wednesday the 24th.I was told today that on computers there is a 14 day policy – yesterday I was told it was each GM’s discretion to either 7 or 14 day period. What the 7 or 14 day period actually means in regards to price matching is not something they would pin down. Either way by Wednesday (I guess) those who bought them will know.Anyone still wonder why BJ’s is last in the “Club – Warehouse” retail market place? Image or incompetence or both?”
