Good e-Reader has been chronicalizing the ravenous public’s appetite for the hottest tablet in the world right now, the HP TouchPad. We have been keeping everyone aware of all of the stores in the USA and Canada currently carrying them. Over the course of the last 48 hours over 400,000 tablets were sold in in North America. Your best bet to land the 16 GB WIFI model for $99 is at Best Buy, the only location with a large inventory. Many Bestbuy locations when reached for comment said that each store should have anywhere between 10 and 50 units. Some locations in dense urban centres mentioned they might even have close to 100.
Starting Sunday morning in the USA and Canada Best Buy locations will be offering the 16 GB WIFI model for $99 and the 32 GB model for $149.99. We also heard that BJ’s Wholesale club will be offering the deal for the first time.
If you are coming into the whole HP TouchPad for $99 deal the reason is HP is discontinuing webOS, and its entire computer devision in a bid to move towards enterprise level services. Considering the whole IT sector right now is in a downturn it is an odd move. Many investors are fleeing from HP citing the company is trying to do too much, too quickly.
