A new Samsung tablet bearing model number SM-T225 has made it past the US FCC certification process. This, coupled with a few other leaks and rumors that we have had in the past point to it likely being the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite that Samsung is expected to launch by mid-2021.
Meanwhile, as things usually are with FCC listings, information about the tablet is cryptic at best while there also isn’t a whole lot of info available either. From what is evident is that the tablet will have the Samsung logo occupying pride of place at the rear center. A single-lens square camera module can also be seen along the top left corner, the sort of which we have seen on old Galaxy smartphones and tablet devices.
Nonetheless, the FCC listing does reveal a few key aspects of the tablet’s internal build. That includes the model number HQ-3565S for the battery, which again points to it being of 5,100 mAh capacity. Also, it will be compatible with 15W fast charging technology, with the charging brick having the model number EP-TA200.
Past rumors again have claimed the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite to come powered by the MediaTek MT8768WT chipset. Further, there is going to be 3 GB of RAM onboard along with maybe, 32 or 64 GB of internal storage at best. While the latter bit is a pure assumption, those figures seem likely given that Samsung would be targeting the budget segment with the A7 Lite tablet.
Coming to screen size, the rumor mills have claimed it to be all of 8.7-inches. Now, that’s quite intriguing considering that the usual convention with Samsung, or for that matter, most other manufacturers, is to name their devices based on the screen size on offer. If there truly is an 8.7-inch display that the tablet comes with, the name could be a gross mismatch.
As for its expected launch window, that again is pegged at around June of this year. Expect more details of the tablet to arrive by then. Remember that is also the time when Apple too is expected to launch the new iPad Mini 6. So that’s lot of action to be seen in the coming months. Stay tuned.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
