A picture of a tablet like device bearing the Nokia logo has set speculations rolling in the web world if this is actually the fabled Nokia tablet. However, apart from the picture with the Nokia logo occupying pride of place on the center of the top bezel of the tablet, almost nothing is known of the device. Like its not known for sure if this is even a tablet PC in the first place and is there is no evidence available right now that can prove its tablet credentials. So much that it shouldn’t come as a surprise if it turn out to be a smartphone. Then it can also be an internal test device used to carry out trials of various features and technologies before their integration into the real stuff.
The complete lack of any specification accompanying the image is making things somewhat less spicy than it could have been. There are a few pointers though in the image if you haven’t already noticed. Like the placement of the Nokia logo at the center is not what one get’s to see on other Nokia devices such as N97 and the N900 where it is relegated to the top left. Another factor that is refuting the device to be actually a tablet is the fact that the image looks to have a display of a just 4.5 inches which is far less to be considered a proper tablet. (Sure Asus has a device which is even less than that though the company is claiming it to be a tablet and not a smartphone.)
Another thing that the image is bringing to the fore is the MeeGo operating system that we know would be powering the Nokia tablet but is being shown here in its native form. This again is not what we know the Nokia tablet would ship with as they have been working on some sort of UI customizations known as Harmattan that would be on top pf the MeeGo software.
So while the image of the supposedly Nokia tablet is welcome, of course a lot more than just a leaked image would be even more welcome. And we would be keenly waiting for what comes next to this.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
