The last time the Adam tablet was in the news was when it was announced that the tablet would come pre-loaded with the Kindle e-book reading application as well as the Dolphin browser. This time, Notion Ink blog is proudly proclaiming a new update that promises to be a big one; the Eden 1.5 update will start streaming in starting Monday and will ring in more than 150 changes. Notion Ink also has lined up the Honeycomb update, which the company has said will be made available towards the end of next month.
Until then, Android 2.3 Gingerbread will be ruling the roost and to make things even more interesting, there will be another update on Wednesday that will allow one to enjoy the ‘rich features of 2.3 Gingerbread.’ Plus there will be many more apps.
Another major development on the Notion Ink front is the setting up of an advanced online system along the lines of those used by companies such as FedEx or Samsung. The system will soon be made live on support.notionink.com and will lead to quicker response times along with acting as a one stop shop for all aspects, such as taking care of all issues to getting live support and so on.
Also, as has been mentioned in the last few posts at the official company blog, the Adam will again be available for pre-order from this Monday. Adam enthusiasts in its home country will be excited to hear that the tablet will finally be available to Indian consumers with all duties pre-paid.
Lastly, the reason for Honeycomb to feature in the Adam rather late is that Notion Ink is having to put in a lot of effort (and time) to upgrade the kernel which is a requisite to make the Adam Honeycomb compliant. In fact, Notion Ink is claiming to have already moved all their resources “from current Eden 1.5 and Gingerbread to Honeycomb” so that by next month end, Android honey should be seen making things sticky and sweet with the Adam.
So make sure to click the ‘update’ icon on your Adam to usher in the update.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
