We do not often see more then one Tablet PC issued from a company, but Japanese company Onkyo is soon unveiling three little dandy’s that all run Windows 7!
Although these tablets do not have slick marketing names such as the “Tablet of Doom” or “The Superman Tablet” they instead are known as the Onkyo TW117A4, TW217A5 and TW317A5. I know. Endearing, right?
The TW117A4 and TW317A5 both feature a 10.1 inch full color touch screen model and have the Intel’s Atom N450 processor and GMA 3150 graphics. They also feature HDMI and the A4 model has a 160 GB internal hard drive, while the A5 has a 32 GB SD Card
The TW217A5 which has a 11.6 full color touch screen and uses the Intel Atom Z530 and GMA 500 graphics.
All models have 1GB of RAM, WiFi b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1.They also have USB ports. All of the units also include a front and back facing webcam, for video conferencing, or taking pictures.
Not only do all of these units have a really nice touch screen that goes between horizontal and landscape mode, but you do not have to rely on just typing on the screen. You can use a USB keyboard on any of the devices in order to straight up type.
Likely, these units are aimed at the Japanese market and will not see an extended release beyond the land of the rising sun. No word on price, but the release date is “sometime in October.”
