Ematic releases the FunTab 7 – A $119 Android 4.0 tablet for kids
Here is a new tablet for the kid community! The FunTab from Ematic promises loads of fun, while also promising an equal measure of education. The tablet comes with a 7 inch 800 x 480 capacitive multi touch display, secured in a colorful rubber cladding to ensure the device survives the rough handling that the kids are often notorious for. Inside is a 1.2 GHz Processor with 400 MHz GPU, duly assisted by 512 MB RAM. The FunTab runs Android 4.0 ICS and comes pre-loaded with popular gaming apps, such as Angry Birds, Where’s My Water, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja, and so on. There is an app called Art Studio that lets the kids hone their artistic skills, while more apps including educational ones can be sourced from the Ematic App Mall. The tablet includes front and rear cameras, a microSD card slot with a max storage of 32 GB, and allows for 5 hours of operation on a single charge. All this for a pocket friendly $119.
Archos introduces the 13.3-inch FamilyPad
It’s 7 and 10 inch sized tablet devices making all the noise right now, though Archos has opened a whole new segment with the FamilyPad tablet device that features a bigger 13.3 inch display. As the name signifies, it’s a device that is designed for the entire family, which should justify the amount of screen real estate the FamilyPad offers and support for 10 simultaneous finger inputs. Behind the 1280 x 800 pixel high definition display lies a 1 GHz ARM Cortex processor that works together with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory. There is a microUSB port expandable up to 32 GB to allow for more storage, while an HDMI slot will let you connect to a suitable TV unit in case you need an even larger viewing area.
The Archos FamilyPad has been priced £274.99 in the UK and will go on sale starting December.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
