Amazon UK offering Kindle Fire for £99 for Black Friday
The Kindle Fire has always been a great entry level tablet, if not the best. However, Amazon has provided you with another reason to go for it—a £30 price rebate from the Amazon UK site, making the total £99. The deal is being offered as part of its Black Friday sales promotions, in spite of the fact that the event has never been a part of British tradition as much as it has been on the other side of the pond. The Kindle Fire provides a tremendous value for your money, especially for £99. Perhaps enough to give its more capable and even bigger tablet cousins a run for their money.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 gets Premium Suite upgrade
The Galaxy Note 10.1 has been provided with a hefty Premium Suite upgrade, updating the tablet to run Android 4.1 while also endowing it with many of the features that the Galaxy Note 2 flaunts right now. These include enhanced S Pen controls, such as ‘multi-window’ multitasking as well as hover-based ‘air view,’ both of which are currently available on the Galaxy Note 2 device.
Then of course the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean upgrade with Samsung’s very own Touchwiz flavor is a very positive development, considering the huge improvement the Android Jelly Bean brings to a tablet’s performance. The update is available right now in Germany, but will be rolled out in other countries as well in phases.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 Wi-Fi getting Jelly Bean update
The 7 inch Galaxy Tab 2 is gettng an upgrade. Samsung is reported to have started issuing out the Android Jelly Bean upgrade package in some select European countries. Initial impressions are pretty awesome, with a user interface that looks to be almost as cool as that of the Nexus 7. The Touchwiz user interface is in between the raw Android experience Google offers and the Samsung tweaks to bring in the company’s own identity to the devices. Also on offer will be enhanced performance credentials thanks to the Project Butter implementations Google adopted to allow for optimal system utilization while delivering superior performance.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Wi-Fi getting ICS update
Those who have parted with their money for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 know that the South Korean manufacturer hasn’t given up on them. The tablet is being provided with the upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, which is the minimum requisite for Jelly Bean to be introduced on the device. While owners would have liked Jelly Bean, at least the present upgrade brings it one step closer to the next step up. The 8.9 inch Galaxy Tab is reported to have become a much better performing device post the ICS treatment, which means the Jelly Bean could bring about an entirely new makeover. Let’s hope the Jelly Bean upgrade is introduced sooner than what it took for the ICS to arrive.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
