If you have been waiting for the Toshiba Thrive and thought it’s going to arrive stateside this coming Sunday, well maybe you need to hurry a bit. The Thrive has already been seen at a few Best Buy sites and chances are that the Honeycomb tablet might have arrived a bit early.
The first Honeycomb tablet from Toshiba, the Thrive was slated to hit the retail scene in the US on the 10th of July. But one version has beat the deadline. With 16 GB of internal memory, the Thrive can be yours for $479.99. So far, the Thrive has been reported to have arrived at Best Buy sites in Austin, Texas and Atlanta, Georgia. Perhaps there are more locations that can be added to that list. Which means, if you are looking forward to the tablet running Android 3.1, you can check out your local Best Buy outlet.
As for reasons to procure the Thrive, the tablet looks a solid piece of hardware. It is extremely well built. It’s definitely not about being thin and light. Rather it can be counted among the most plump tablets currently available. Its got a 10 .1 inch display upfront having a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels with a 1 GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor on the other side of it. Further, the Thrive boasts of a dual camera setup and among a very few tablet to feature a full-sized USB port and a full-sized SD card slot.
The Thrive will be available in 8, 16, and 32 GB versions with prices starting at $430, $480, and $580 respectively.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
