Tablet makers have resorted to almost everything to ensure their device gets consumer attention, but putting in a 3D display is one aspect that has yet to catch on. The Touchmate tablet, however, renders a 3D display that does not require the use of special glasses. Running Android 4.0 ICS, the tablet from Touchmate comes with a multi touch enabled 8 inch capacitive 3D display having a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels. This also makes the Touchmate tablet the world’s first 3D tablet in the 8 inch category, though the Touchmate is only the second device in the world to offer 3D display (the first being the LG G-Slate that came with an 8.9 inch sized screen).
The rest of the spec sheet has a 1.0 GHz Cortex A9 dual core chip, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, front and back facing cameras, along with an HDMI port.
Alok Gupta, MD, Touchmate India, said, “We are innovators and our aim is to provide latest technology to the world. We understand the demand for glass-free 3D for the home is increasing dramatically and we are proud to bring it first to the market. The demand for tablets is huge in this region and the present product line-up is very expensive for middle-class people. Our motto is that even the common man should be able to experience the power and benefits of this Glass free 3D internet tablet.”
Price and other details are awaited. The tablet costs around $462 in the UAE.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
