Videocon, the Indian consumer electronics company, is all set to venture into the hot new tablet segment. The company already has some experience with Android, having launched two Android smartphones in the past. Now, the lure of the tablets seems to have overcome Videocon.
The company is reported to be testing a 7 inch tablet running Android 2.3.
“Videocon Mobile is currently testing a prototype of Android 2.3 based 7 inch tablet and may launch it in July,” sources close to the project have revealed.
Videocon has zeroed in on a 7 inch sized device on the basis of a survey that led it to believe to be the most convenient size for Indian tablet users.
However, the device Videocon intends to launch is not likely to be its own in-house development but might be an OEM device sourced from China.
No news as for the price range of the upcoming tablet as yet.

With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
