With competition slowly gaining in strength and is showing every signs of becoming even more fierce with each passing day, Apple too can be seen upping the ante and is doing all the right things that should be done to hold on to its turf. Like not only is the company raising the bar with regard to the technological aspects of the tablet, apart from trying to stretch its hold across different segments by developing iPads of different smaller sizes, Apple is also making sure the iPad is available to an even wider section of the people.
And it is the latter line of thought that might have prompted Apple to make the iPad a regular on the Walmart store shelves. The latest tablet PC news point out all six models of the iPad will be on offer at Walmart and its going to happen as early as from next week itself. Apart from the device itself, the world’s largest retailer will also offer a range of associated iPad accessories like keyboards, docks and the like. Thereafter, a thousand Walmart stores will be including the iPad in their inventories by the time its end October while 800 more outlets will be joining the party in November.
However, leaked info suggest the iPads won’t be carrying any discounts at Walmart as prices are likely to be pretty much the same as anywhere else. Also, rumor has it that each Walmart store will only have 5 iPads each as initial stock which though is a common practice at Walmart that is known to stock high end electronic products in extremely limited numbers and rely on their excellent supply chain network to quickly refurbish depleted stocks. Another area which needs to be enlightened is whether Walmart will also offer the iPad online.
The development though should not come as a surprise as the retail giant had first stated back in May that they too will be offering the iPad as well “later this year”. Also Apple products isn’t anything new to Walmart as the popular American retail store already has items like iPod or the iPhone in its inventories besides also offering the Apple TV in its Sams Club stores.
Also, with Walmart too beginning to offer the iPad, this will be the third major retail outing for the famed Apple tablet after Target that too had begun selling the iPad from the 2nd of October. Among the other places from which the iPad can be procured is Best Buy while Amazon too had begun to offer the iPad online from last week before running out of stock just a few days back.
And as for the tablet’s appeal, it continues to be as strong as ever with Apple still not finding it easy enough to make the iPad invade as many world markets as it might have liked. In fact, popularity of the tablet device is ever on the increase even after months of its launch. Sure with the iPad also becoming available at Walmart will make things a lot more easier to a vast majority of its prospective customers.
With a keen interest in tech, I make it a point to keep myself updated on the latest developments in technology and gadgets. That includes smartphones or tablet devices but stretches to even AI and self-driven automobiles, the latter being my latest fad. Besides writing, I like watching videos, reading, listening to music, or experimenting with different recipes. The motion picture is another aspect that interests me a lot, and I'll likely make a film sometime in the future.
