While Apple is yet to officially come up with the white iPhone, Dell has marched a lead in coming up with the Streak done up in white. As of now, the white Dell Streak will be exclusive to Best Buy. Also, one has to be physically present at the stores to pick up the white Streaks as there is no avenue for online procurement of what can be described as the tablet smartphone combo device. However, not all Best Buy stores will be carrying the white Streaks right now.
Everything else remains the same. There are no changes in the specifications of the tablet and there isn’t anything that makes the white Dell Streak different from their black counterparts. For all their devices, however, Dell is in the midst of upgrading the operating system from the Android 1.6 that it initially came with to the Android 2.2 Froyo. Dell announced it would start selling Streaks loaded with the latest Android Froyo and unlocked soon in the US, while all the Streaks that are sold through Best Buy will be provided with the software update beginning next month.
And lastly, rumor mills are churning out stories of other color versions of the Streak tablet to be in the making. While nothing of this sort has been confirmed as yet, it won’t be a bad idea after all to have the option of different colors for the Streak.
