GLIGO is a brand new E Ink smartwatch currently fundraising on Indiegogo. They currently have raised over $212,000 on a $10,000 goal. This device is going to retail for a paltry $99 and will start shipping in September. One of the big selling points is that the battery will last three years, due to the low power that the e-paper display draws.
The GLIGO will come with a smartphone app that connects via Bluetooth. It will allow you to customize different watch faces. It also can display fitness information such as heart rate and health monitoring. You can display texts, calls and notifications as well.
GLIGO’s stylish, minimalist design is fit for any occasion. It comes with a 316L fine steel case that can withstand depths down to 30 metres. This means no more worrying about taking off your watch when you’re taking a bath, in the pool or sweating it out.
One of the reasons why I like this device is because other e Ink watches are fairly expensive. The Sony Fes Watch U retails for $899 and the Seiko Spirit is $599.
