GoodeReader covered the recent US launch of digital-first publisher Le French Book, whose purpose is to bring award-winning and bestselling French language titles to a broader international audience. Today, Le French Book announced its partnership with OverDrive to bring its titles to libraries for digital lending.
“We are excited to work with Overdrive,” says Le French Book founder Anne Trager in a press release. “We’ve had a number of requests for our books from libraries and are happy to get this off the ground. Our goal is to get these great reads from France to new readers, so working with Overdrive was an obvious choice. Our goal is to expand a book’s reach.”
Le French Book was founded in December of 2011, but recently launched with three titles, The Paris Lawyer, Treachery in Bordeaux, and The 7th Woman, all in English. The publisher has two more titles currently in the works, and plans to maintain a release list of around ten translated titles per year.
For its part, OverDrive is a global leader in providing digital content such as ebooks and audiobooks to over 19,000 public and school libraries with the purpose of enabling lending of those titles to patrons.
