Heads up readers – all-new, top of the line Kindle almost ready. 8th generation. Details next week.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos has just confirmed that a new Kindle e-Reader will be released next week. The Tweet makes reference to a high-end device, which basically means it will be the companies new flagship e-reader and I think it will be the Kindle Voyage 2.
The Amazon Kindle Voyage 2 was supposed to be released last year, but there was minor setbacks regarding new processor and e-paper technology. Freescale experienced manufacturing delays with their new dualcore IMX.7 processor. It was supposed to enter mass production in November, but I was told by an executive at Freescale that “due to unforeseeable circumstances, we will now start the manufacturing process Q1/Q2 2016“.
E Ink also has new e-paper technology that will be formally unveiled sometime in the next five weeks. The company has developed a new screen that is flexible, high resolution and can be cut for six inch screens and can go as big as 13.3.
I think its interesting that Jeff Bezos teased a new Kindle on Twitter. Normally Amazon is very secretive on new devices and never announces things in advance.
