Kindle Fire Plagued by Wi-Fi Issues
ByThe much hyped Amazon Kindle Fire has come up against some criticism. Users have complained about their inability to connect to the internet or Wi-Fi networks. Some have been saying they can’t connect to the Wi-Fi, while some are complaining they are unable to connect to the internet even after being able to access their routers. The topic has already received some exposure on Amazon’s Kindle forum as well. Due to replies, the post “Kindle Fire cannot connect to Internet” on the Kindle Forum is getting longer by the day so that the discussion has already seen 182 posts so far.
One member stated, “Have just opened Kindle Fire. Can connect to wifi but no internet. All other wireless devices in home are working fine connecting to internet. Signal is strong. Have turned “Wireless Networking” on and off several times. Still showing X on wifi icon after obtaining IP address and no internet connection. Open dynamic ip unsecured wifi network.”
Another member has mentioned: “My Kindle Fire is not connecting to my network either. It recognizes my router but once I enter the security key it attempts to connect and fails.”
All this, however, should not kindle the idea that the end of the Fire is here even before it has started. A way out is to download and install the latest update 6.2, which resolves all these issues. Though the update 6.2 does not specifically mention any fixes for Wi-Fi issues, it has still solved the problem for most users though unfortunately, not for all. Those who are not able to connect to the internet will have to update their Kindle Fire manually.
Amazon, on its part, has yet to publicly acknowledge the problem, though they are aware of the issue and a cure should be coming soon. The tablet has just started reaching consumers’ end and, of course, the last thing that either Amazon or the consumers would like to have is the tablet getting marred by Wi-Fi issues.
