Xiaomi MiReader might see a global release

The Xiaomi MiReader came out last year and it has only been available in China, but the stores that sell them, are few and far between. The company might be gearing up for an international launch, because they have just obtained certification in the Bluetooth SIG database. It has also been renamed for a possible launch, now called MI Ebook Reader.

The Hisense Q5 is discontinued

Hisense has told Good e-Reader that their new RLCD Android 10 tablet is discontinued. This device just came out a couple of weeks ago and there was just a limited production run. Hisense executives were disappointed with the final product and pulled the trigger to pull it from retail shelves. In October, a second generation model will be released, fixing a number of issues, but the company failed to disclose how it will be changed.

Sony Digital Paper DPT-RP1 is Discontinued in the US

The Sony Digital Paper DPT-RP1 is discontinued in the United States. Official distributors such as Adorama, Amazon and B&H all show the product is either out of stock or discontinued. This 13.3 inch e-note initially came out in 2017 and is getting long in the tooth.

Pocketbook Color delayed until the end of July

The Pocketbook Color is probably the most eagerly anticipated color e-reader of 2020. It was supposed to come out in the middle of July, but the company has delayed the release until the end of the month. The global pandemic has slowed down international shipping, so this is the big reason that it has been delayed. Good e-Reader will begin shipping out pre-orders at the end of the month.

Quirklogic announces a new 13.3 inch e-note called Papyr

Quirklogic has just announced that they have developed a new 13.3 inch e-note, that is based on the Sony Digital Paper DPT-RP1 design. Inspired by its larger, 42” counterpart, Quilla, Papyr offers all of the same interactive capabilities for capturing, storing and managing your thoughts, ideas, notes and critical information, in a compact, portable size to take and use wherever you go. The paper-like surface and large 13” display make the digital writing experience feel as natural as writing on a piece of paper.

Supernote A6X is available for pre-order

Supernote has unveiled their first new device of 2020, the Supernote A6X. This device is a huge upgrade from the Supernote A6 Agile, which came out last year. It has a quad-core processor, a large amount of RAM and is running Android. The retail price is $359, but you can pre-order it from the Good e-Reader Store for $299, it ships out August 10th.
