Amazon Kindle Oasis sold out until November
The Amazon Kindle Oasis received big discounts on Prime Day and it looks like so many people bought a new e-Reader, that it is sold out until November 9th. The 8GB and 32GB models, are not available to order, and ditto with the Oasis Bundle. These devices are not just out of stock in the United States, but Canada too.

Should E INK E-Notes Continue to use Glass based Displays?
There is no shortage of E INK based digital note taking devices or e-notes that have hit he market in 2020. The vast majority are using glass based displays. This includes the Remarkable 2, Onyx Boox Note Air, Supernote A6X and a myriad of others. Glass makes the screen more durable and a stylus is less likely to scratch the screen. The downsides is glass based displays are heavier and there is less friction, when drawing on the screen.
Unboxing the Onyx Boox Note Air
The stylus has been redesigned and has a magnet inside of it, so it will snap to the edge of the Air. The pen is basic and does not have an eraser. Onyx says that the nibs are replaceable, but they won’t be available until the end of October. The back of the Note Air is made of a blue brushed aluminum and has an orange racing stripe on the side, the Onyx logo is the same color. On the side is your speaker, power button and USB-C port. All of the other sides are clean and have no ports or anything else.
The screen is flush with the bezel and is made of glass. The main bezel is black, and the other bezel on the side of the screen is blue, with an orange Onyx logo. This is a very interesting industrial design, something that Onyx has never really done before.

Hold off buying a new Kindle
If you are in the market for a new Kindle e-reader, I would wait. Amazon Prime Day is going to occur on October 13-14 of this year and there will be hefty discounts. Last year Amazon levied a 20% discount on most Kindle models, such as the entry level Kindle and Paperwhite. The flagship Kindle Oasis is hardly ever discounted, but I would not be surprised if it was on sale too.
Amazon sells out the Kindle DX in a few hours
Amazon unearthed a secret cache of Kindle DX 9.7 inch e-readers and put them up for sale on September 29th, they had a extremely limited supply. The DX completely sold out in a matter of hours and it is flagged as not available again.
The fact that a ten year old e-reader that did not have a touchscreen and was controlled with a D-Pad, speaks volumes on how people are attracted to large screen devices. Amazon would be best served if they released a 3rd generation Kindle DX.
